:: More information about Aaliyah's movie!!
Canadian(Ontario)-born R&B singer Keisha Chante has been confirmed to play Aaliyah in a much-anticipated biopic set for release next year.
According to the National Post, the ink is dry on Chante’s contract to portray the R&B singer in the as-yet-titled biopic.
Chronicling the life of the R&B star that brought magic to both the screen and the studio, Aaliyah’s biopic will attempt to cover the singer’s journey up to her untimely death in 2001.
Chante, a successful R&B singer who released “2U” in 2006, will also star in a new television series entitled “Soul,” set to hit the ’small screen’ early 2009.
The “Get To Know You” singer is also plotting the release of her third studio album due next year.

While a release date has not been set, the Aaliyah biopic is rumored to be hitting theaters mid-2009.

Chante doesn’t have an extensive acting resume but she has starred in a number of indie flicks, including the Canadian movie, the Cat's Cradle. She also has an R&B album titled “2U” released in 2006 and has another one on the way next year.
Sources close to the project say she was selected because of she looks a lot like Aaliyah.

Fingers crossed, hope that this time these information are true. Can't wait to see the movie! :)

Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet Named Hottest Males Movie Vampire

The rave reviews that people give to his movie "Twilight" earns Robert Pattinson another accolade, which is the predicate of Hottest Male Movie Vampire, in a poll compiled by Moviefone. Winning the No. 1 position, he bests some other big names in Hollywood movie industry who have previously played the role of vampires, including Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise among others.

Meanwhile, topping the poll for Hottest Females Movie Vampire is Salma Hayek, thanks for her memorable role as vampire queen Santanico Pandemonium in "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1996). She is followed on the list by "Underwold" actress Kate Beckinsale and Angie Everhart of "Bordello of Blood," both of whom secure the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively.

Below are the complete lists of both Hottest Males Movie Vampire and Hottest Females Movie Vampire.

7.Gerard Butler - "Dracula 2000"
8.Tom Cruise - "Interview with the Vampire"
9.Dominic Purcell - "Town Creek"
10.Kiefer Sutherland - "The Lost Boys"

:: I have found a nice photo of Aaliyah with Bill Hersey during promoting "Romeo Must Die"in Tokyo. I haven't see it before ;)

Bill Hersey about Lili:
"I was really shocked at the untimely and truly tragic death of 22-year-old pop singer and actress Aaliyah Haughton in a plane crash in the Bahamas on Sept. 2 (25). I got to know this talented young woman quite well when she was in Tokyo last year with producer Joel Silver and actor Jet Li to promote "Romeo Must Die" for Warner Brothers.

I introduced Aaliyah to Gwen Stefani, lead singer of No Doubt, and really enjoyed sitting and listening to the two of them talk about their goals and hopes for the future. Aaliyah was headed to the top and had just released her new album, Aaliyah, finished shooting on the film adaptation of Anna Rice's novel Queen of the Damned and had been contracted to play an important role in Silver's "Matrix 2."

Her death is a great loss, not only to her family, but also to her many fans."

:: A small mention about Lili in today's article on SoulBounce.com:

Brandy & Monica Drop New Singles, but Are They Enough?
Remember back in the day when it was all about Brandy versus Monica, and Aaliyah won? Well, with Babygirl sadly out of the picture, nowadays B-Rocka and Miss Thang are left to duke it out in the imaginary slapboxing match in my head, but neither has seemingly had much fight in her lately. However, now both twenty-something singers are returning with new albums in separate attempts to regain the championship belt.full story

:: I've also found an article including a photo from the set of Cassie’s new single "Official Girl". She's posing there and wearing clothes- "looking a little bit similar to Aaliyah". Link here. Hmm what do you think about that guys? I actually don't see much likeness;)

:: R&B singer Monica mentioned BabyGirl in her interview on rollingout.com:

In retrospect, the summer concert stage in 1996, who would rock it the best?
“It depends on what you’re looking for when you say who rocks it the best. If you want it real and 100 percent, I would say me. If you wanted it sexy and sultry, I would always say Aaliyah. If you wanted it clean-cut and not taking too many risks, it would always be Brandy. It depends on what you’re looking for in the ‘90s era on who would rock it the best.”

Thx Miante:)

Yayyy I'm sooo hapy about that, big THX to Gertie <3 =)
:: SoulBounce.com have written an article about "25 Things That Killed (and are Still Killing) Urban Music". Aaliyah's death was on place 21.:

" Death of Aaliyah: Not that Aaliyah took an entire genre of music with her to the grave, but it can be argued that her passing made way for a wave of young, pretty dancers with okay voices and no personality. Only difference between them and Aaliyah is, Aaliyah had personality along with talent, ideas and a willingness to experiment. Also, she wasn't so full of herself."
